Who Is Zulekha Ali and What Does She Do?
My name is Zulekha Ali Asghar. I basically come from a small village in Nasirabad, Balochistan. We moved to Jacobabd Sindh (a small city in interior Sindh) to get a quality education which unfortunately was not available in my village.
I started my content writing journey in January 2022 via Facebook (where I provided my content writing skills as an outsourcer). As for my studies, I am BSc private student. As for my professional growth, I am learning new digital marketing and content writing skills via Coursera.
How and Where Did Zulekha Ali’s Content Writing Journey Start?
Throughout middle school to college, I was an average student in every subject, but I loved reading and writing; hence it finally led me to be a permanent content writer. When I was in my 1st year of pre-medical, I was used to watching videos about freelancing, different skills, and how people are making big earnings across the world via freelancing.
As of November 2022, I have earned over US $2k+ and worked with various international clients on different projects using Upwork.
Well, I always dreamed of being a doctor or joining the civil services; however, my family didn’t permit me to continue high studies. Long story short, as someone who always dreamed of being financially independent, I started making the most out of what I had (hence freelancing).
Learning Curves As a SEO Content Writer
By now, you know I started this amazing journey via Facebook groups and finally landed on Upwork.
Throughout these 9 – 10 months, there were always days when I thought I needed to do better. I am still learning new ways to optimize my proposals and profile, keep learning new tactics, and self-branding.
When it comes to clients, I have never faced any communication problems or providing up-to-the-mark content (now, for that, you need to see what you are getting yourself into. I have never written a real estate blog because I know I am not good at it).
Do keep in mind never to overpromise, strictly follow the deadlines (time management, uh, I still struggle with this skill), and you will be good to go.
To Whom Did Zulekha Ali Credit and Why?
Well, for starters, I was used to watching Khalil-ur-Rahman’s blog, and freelancing videos made my Upwork account a few times, too (back in 2020). However, never know how to get started with it. As I joined Facebook groups and started working with some freelancers, I learned more about blogging and what goes into it.
Finally, in March 2022, I joined Sir Saad and Qandeel’s two-month content writing and Upwork profile-building course. (it helped me make a portfolio and Upwork profile optimization).
I also thank Mubashir Ahmad to give me the opportunity to grace my short success story on his interactive blog Mubashir Talks. I wish him all the best with a good spirit. Bravo!
