Who Is Rimsha Ashraf and What Does She Do?
My name is Rimsha Ashraf, and I am a passionate and creative Freelance Content Writer. I have done my bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, and now I am working as a full-time freelance writer. Yes, I skipped my job as a Software Engineer and started following my passion.
People always asked me why I had quit my educational career and switched to writing. At the start, I also had an inferiority complex that all my classmates are doing jobs in the field and what I am doing here is just writing content! But then it started vanishing when I realized my success in freelancing.
Where Did Rimsha Ashraf Create Her Freelance Startups?
In October, right after leaving my first and only job, I made a profile on Upwork. At that time, I had no idea about optimizing profiles, writing effective proposals, etc. I started blindly and kept on sending proposals for almost 2 months. But no results.
Luckily I got a response from a client and got my first order on 26th November 2020. I completed that order and then didn’t get new clients for months. I joined Linkedin and started looking for some work.
I contacted people who are successful in freelancing and asked them for help. Not everyone is there to help you, but luckily I found a person who guided me and gave me work. Bravo! I did a remote job for 4 months as a content writer, but I lost it due to downtime in work, as ups and downs are a part of freelancing.
It was April 2021, and I had nothing to do. But at that time, I didn’t get depressed because my belief in Allah had gone strong. I believed that He must have the best plan for me.
I again started working on my Fiverr and Upwork profiles. But this time, I learned some strategies, implemented them, and optimized my profile. Alhamdulillah, after 20-25 days, I got my first client on Fiverr on 2nd May 2021.
What I Have Earned So Far?
Since that day, I’m getting consistent orders on Fiverr and have 2-3 long-term clients on Upwork. It’s been a year now, and I’m working as a freelance content writer. Till now, I have completed 169 orders on Fiverr and 10+ contracts on Upwork.
Freelancing is all about consistency and hard work. If you want to get results, do not give up if you’re not getting results. It requires patience and hard work to succeed in freelancing. You can’t achieve anything without hard work. Every new day of your life demands a different you. Keep learning new skills and moving forward in your journey to achieve your goals.
I thank Mubashir Ahmad to give me the opportunity to grace my freelancing success story on his interactive blog Mubashir Talks. I wish him all the best with a good spirit.

My plan is to have a start-up or run a team remotely this year, In Sha Allah. I want to give training to girls, especially those who are not allowed to work in offices or can’t continue their studies due to financial crisis.
